KUALA LUMPUR, BUKIT BINTANG – The 14 th BB Charity Carnival will be held in front of KK SUPER MART, 75 Jalan Bukit Bintang, on 26 th January 2019, at 5.30p.m. This carnival aims to bring the Chinese New Year’s cheers and joy more than 1,500 underprivileged individuals which includes senior citizens, orphans, people with limited abilities, rehabilitated drug addicts, single mothers, and homeless people. This event is jointly organized by Bukit Bintang Charity Society and the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Assembly Hall (KLCAH), supported by Bukit Bintang Hawkers and Petty Traders Association. Yang Berhormat Tuan Haji Khalid bin Abd Samad, Minister of Federal Territory has confirmed his attendance as the Guest of Honour
for this event.
The theme for 14th BB Charity Carnival is ‘Precious Love’. In conjunction with Chinese New Year, red packets, goodies bags and packed food & drinks will be distributed to the underprivileged individuals of Kuala Lumpur. Datuk Seri Dr. KK Chai, Chairman of Bukit Bintang Charity Society, expressed that ‘We are grateful to be celebrating the new year with more than 2,000 people of Kuala Lumpur. We wish the underprivileged communities too, are able to share the joy and happiness of Chinese New Year’.
This event will be attended by 5 religious leaders:
1) Tuan Haji Mohd Ajib B.Ismail, Pengarah Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan;
2) YBhg.Sri Kasi Datuk RS Mohan Shan, President of Malaysia Hindu Sangam;
3) The Most Reverend Archbishop Julian Leow Beng Kim
4) YBhg.The Most Ven. Datuk K Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thera, Founder & Spiritual Advisor of the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society and Ti-Ratana Buddist Society;
5) Mr Daozhang Tan Hoe Chieow AMS, President, Federation of Taoists Associations of Malaysia
Red packets and goodies worth more than RM300,000 will be given to more than 1500 underprivileged individuals. To keep the audiences entertained, the carnival will also cultural performances such as Hakka songs & Wushu, lion dance, dragon dance, and also magic performance. The night will end on a high note with a grand fireworks performance.
