THE 5TH ANNUAL DINNER OF THE KARATE DO GOJU KAI ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES MEMBERS, PARENTS, AND COACHES.
KAJANG, SELANGOR – Today, martial arts are recognised as skills that every individual must learn. The benefit of these skills is that not only benefit our physical health, but also have a considerably greater impact.
Selangor Karate DO Goju Kai Association was founded in 2008 and is a martial art training association. It is also well-known among the Kajang community. The association operates in the Kajang Training Centre with a training frequency of twice a week. Now, the centre has 200 members and 20 coaches.
This year, in conjunction with its 5th annual dinner, 200 members and parents were gathered at Dewan Kajang Mewah to commemorate this momentous occasion. According to Yondan J. Sithambaram, President of Selangor Karate Do Gojukai Association, the annual dinner aims to commemorate all members, parents, and coaches who have given their entire devotion to the organisation’s successes. Among the accomplishments and successes are three gold medallists in the Philippines, four gold medallists in Singapore, and ten gold medallists in India. He hopes that the Selangor Karate Do Goju Kai Association may serve as a platform for developing youth potential in the Karate Do martial art.
When conducting a national yearly competition in Selangor, the Selangor Karate Do Goju Kai Association regularly draws attention from members from other states. Organising a national tournament capable of creating its own value and standard. This is owing to the significant contributions of Datuk Seri Dr KK Chai, Chairman Executive of iconic retailer KK SUPER MART. Every year, KK SUPER MART encourages the organisation with the objective that the martial arts sport can attract more youth participants. This effort indicates that the competition in 2019 was a success, with 457 participants participating, compared to only 334 contestants the previous year. It is incredible how many nations participate year after year, including Thailand, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Mr Steven Lee, Senior Manager Business Operation Control from KK SUPER MART, attended the event and proudly praised the Selangor Karate Do Goju Kai Association for actively doing Karate seminars in conjunction with the national sport day, inter-schools karate tournament, Plaza Metro Kajang PMK Karate Tournament, Amerin Mall Karate Tournament, and KK International Karate Do Championship. He further said that youth participation in martial arts may create individuals to be more disciplined, patient, healthy, and confident.
Martial arts are a great choice among parents who want to assist their children flourish. This is because the appropriate age to begin is in primary school. It is undoubtedly capable of avoiding unhealthy habits that might have bad consequences for youngsters.
As a result, the Selangor Karate Do Goju Kai Association welcomes everyone to participate in the martial art. Those interested may visit any of the association’s branches in Semenyih, Cheras, Selayang Baru, Batu Caves, or Kuala Lumpur. The association organised a variety of exciting activities, including a tournament in collaboration with Malaysia’s Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Kajang Municipal Council, MpKj Council members, Kajang’s ADUN, and Penggerak Belia DUN Kajang.
